ABOUT MICHELLE BRYANT

Michelle Bryant is currently a Political Director with a local campaign. A former Budget and Policy Director for a Wisconsin State Senator, Bryant staffed her Senator on the state’s powerful Joint Committee on Finance. Previous positions include Political Director with Mary Burke for Wisconsin Gubernatorial campaign, Executive Director for African World Festival, Ltd., Chief of Staff with the Wisconsin State Senate, Policy Analyst, and Legislative Staff. In addition, she has worked for over 20 years with public and private organizations to provide ongoing training around issues of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Bryant is a trusted facilitator that has developed and provided training, seminars, and curriculum to address issues of Affirmative Action, Transgender Work Policies, Diversity, and Cross-Cultural Communication.

Politically active with the Democratic Party, Michelle currently holds positions with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin (DPW) include DPW Administrative Committee Representative, DPW Black Caucus Vice Chair, and 4th Congressional District Executive Committee Member.

Bryant is also an EMERGE alum, former Center for Progressive Leadership Faculty member, a past board member for a number of non-profit groups, a campaign volunteer, and member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Sorority.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Michelle believes that we all have a social footprint. She strives to make sure that she leaves any situation better than she found it. When that is not possible, she is committed to learning from that experience. Born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in New York, Bryant likes to say that she has been given the best of both worlds: Southern pragmatism and Northern tenacity. She uses that common sense approach to champion the issues that will move communities forward. Michelle also has a son, Augustine (Derrick), of whom she is extremely proud.
